StartUp Resources
If you are just getting started with your business or if you want to start your own business, there are many things that you need, regardless of the type of business you are diving into. The list of things that you will need to do & know can grow quite complex and vary widely depending on the particular industry or niche you are in, and the list of things that you don't know that you don't know, can seem endless at times.
The good news is, that doesn't have to stop you from getting started & doing well as you learn along the way. We will cover some of the basic things that you should know when getting started with your own business. Hopefully, many of the things that you read here will be very familiar to you, while other things may give you an "Aha" moment or two. It only takes one "golden nugget" to make exponentially more profits in your business or save you from seemingly nightmarish headaches from missing something you thought was not that important.
A Plan - One might think that this part goes without needing to be said. However, that is not so in many cases. Whether you are starting a tiny sole proprietor business, a hundred million dollar corporate startup or anything in between, you need a plan for your business to reference to keep you on track throughout the growth of your business.
Your plan should include your Mission Statement or over arching purpose of your business for your clients or customers. This will serve you well when you begin to stray from what originally got you started, as well as when you begin to grow & scale your business to your next level of success.
A Name - The name of your business can be a very important part of your relationship with your clients or customers. It is often the first thing they learn about your business, followed by what you can do for them of course. You want the name of your business to be easily memorable for those you serve.
A Website - Along with that name for your business, you want a domain name that coincides with your business name or what you provide to your clients or customers.
Once you have your domain, you are ready for your website.
Regardless of if you have a brick & mortar business or if you operate virtually, a website serves both you and those your serve.
An Entity - Depending on what your business does, the level you plan to grow your business, how you plan to have others involved with your business, and how you want to be taxed, will help you determine what type of entity you will want to form.
A Team - Now this is probably not the first team that you think of, but it probably should be. While you may end up building that other type of team, the team that we are talking about here is your AAC Team.
Your AAC Team is made up of your Attorney, your Accountant, and your Coach or Consultant. This team will guide you not only through your start up phase, but also through your growth and scaling phases.
